Project Overview
Design, engineer both electrically and structurally, fabricate and install a 73′ tall WWE logo, that penetrates through a floor and is suspended in a lobby. This is the second largest truly custom LED logo in North America and utilizes over 1700 unique PCB boards.
Challenges
Create as many PCB boards as needed, to not alter in any way the WWE logo, while also not adding a bezel to the edges of the strucuture. Suspend over 20,000 lbs above all visitor’s heads, which required a combination of different mounting methods to do safely.
Solutions
Utilizing a 3D laser scan of the lobby allowed us solve a lot of issues prior to arriving on site. Three months of electrical engineering to perfect the PCB “puzzle” and deliver a true to brand logo, without the need for a bezel to mask the edges. Using a local structural engineering firm for efficiency, allowing for periodical on site verification and the ability to quickly recognize potential problems.
